- Product Introduction
Dog spikes, which have a T-shaped end on one end and a pointed head on the other, are a crucial fastener used in railway construction to fasten rails to sleepers. After entering the wooden sleeper through a hole on the rail's bottom, they hammer the head into the rail to firmly secure it. The rails are kept from sliding laterally by the shank's small curvature or bend. Dog spikes help preserve track stability by distributing the weight of passing trains from the rails to the sleepers in addition to fastening the rails.
Even though installing these spikes has historically required human hammering, the efficiency of installation can be increased with the use of contemporary mechanical instruments.
Dog spikes of different sizes are available in our spike shop to satisfy specific spike penetration length requirements. For smaller track sections, the most common spikes are 5/8" x 6" and 9/16" x 5-1/2".

Performance Of DHS35 Screw Spikes

Physical tensile strength: tensile strength ≥ 500 Mpa.
Bar test: tensile strength ≥ 500 Mpa, yield strength ≥ 300 Mpa, elongation ≥ 20%.
- Cold bending performance of DHS35 steel track spikes
The crack depth of the threaded part after the 30° cold bending test is not more than 1.0mm, and the anti-rust layer and the surface of the substrate are allowed to have slight peeling, wrinkles and cracks.
